Respect

My grandfather's funeral was today.

There isn't going to be a post about him, his life, or what he meant to me; this site is not the proper forum for that.

I do, however, want to acknowledge the military -- specifically, the Army -- for providing Military Funeral Honors. My emotions during the playing of Taps were a confused mess, but the two most prominent were pride in my grandfather's service to this country, and pride in a country that is so scrupulous in paying its respects to those who served faithfully, even if that service was nearly 60 years ago.

To the Army, and the two uniformed soldiers who came from three states away to perform the Honors, thank you.
